Fans in Lancashire today paid tribute to Michael Jackson as news of his death filtered around the world.

Pam Satchwell, 55, originally of Ribbleton, saw the Jackson 5 when they rolled into Preston in February 1979.

She found out about Michael Jackson’s death at around 11.30pm last night while she was chatting with friends in America over the internet.

She said: “I was chatting with a friend on the internet and she realised I didn’t know. She said ‘have you heard about Michael Jackson?’ and I said ‘no’.
